Lip scrubs have become super popular recently and I was dying to get my hands on one! After doing a little research I found out that it is just as easy to make your own at home than it is to go out and buy one. You only need four ingredients to make your own DIY sugar lip scrub. This lip scrub will moisturize and make your lips feel baby soft.
Making your own DIY sugar lip scrub protects you from putting harmful chemicals and dyes found in the store brand scrubs on your lips. Especially because they tend to taste so good, you just want to lick it off. Not to mention these same chemicals may irritate the sensitive skin on your lips and make them feel chapped or burned. Making a DIY sugar lip scrub at home is easier, cheaper, and safer than buying one.
Benefits of a DIY Sugar Lip Scrub
My lips have been super dry ever since I became pregnant. Now that I’m breastfeeding, they’re even more dry. That combined with decreased moisture in the air and the dry heat in my home has caused my lips to be extra dry. This DIY sugar lip scrub has made a great difference in the appearance of my lips.
This DIY sugar lip scrub helps remove dry skin from your lips and reveal a fresh layer. When you exfoliate your lips, it helps your lips to retain moister better too. This lip scrub will leave your lips soft, smooth and hydrated! Plus, they will look amazing! You won’t have to apply lip balm as often to keep your lips soft and smooth.
What the Ingredients Do
Coconut oil keeps your lips hydrated and healthy for longer. Coconut oil is rich in Vitamin E and antioxidants. The sugar is a natural exfoliator that takes the dead skin off of your lips. It also tastes good and completely safe if it is accidentally swallowed. Raspberry extract is for taste and smell if you, like myself, love fruity lip balms. The food coloring is just for fun and to add color to the DIY sugar lip scrub.
What You Will Need:

How to make the DIY Sugar Lip Scrub
1.) Heat up the coconut oil in the microwave for a few seconds until it is liquefied.
2.) Add the sugar to the coconut oil and stir together.
3.) Add in the Raspberry extract.

5.) Stir until everything is evenly mixed together and distributed.
6.) Use it! Just place a fingertip amount onto your lips and rub your lips together for a few seconds.
7.) Then wipe the excess scrub off. No worries if you accidentally swallow some, all the ingredients are safe to ingest.
8.) Place in storage container in a room temperature area!
Other Variations of the DIY Sugar Lip Scrub
The great thing about this all natural sugar DIY lip scrub is that you can change up the flavors! If you prefer a minty lip scrub, you can switch the raspberry extract for mint and the red food coloring for blue. The mint extract leaves your lips feeling soothed.
